How To Grow Your Hair Long Fast Naturally Using Essential Oil

To briefly refresh (from my earlier write ups) essential oil is something very popular and widely used for aromatherapy. In fact, for the longest time, essential oil has even been used for anointing and healing the sick. And now it is becoming more widely used for scalp massage to promote healthy hair to accelerate hair growth.

And essential oil ‘takes care’ of our emotional health too – by lightly inhaling its scent or having it in our warm bath for example, can really help us to destress and chill out, especially after a long and maybe frustrating or depressing day – being less stressful is good for our overall health, as well as the health of our skin and hair.

There are many kinds of essential oil out there in the market. Here are some of the essential and carrier oils for skin, hair and to destress or chill out (to minimize hair loss)…

How To Grow Your Hair Long Fast Naturally with these Essential and Carrier Oilshow to grow your hair long fast naturally essential oils

Jojoba carrier oil

Pure Jojoba oil is a smooth and non-greasy carrier oil which is very similar to the oil (natural sebum) in our own skin and scalp. Do you know that other than for hair, jojoba oil also helps to combat skin blemishes and acne, especially when this oil is mixed with tea tree oil. As for hair, it has the finest moisturizing substances and is easily absorbed by our skin or scalp .

As I have shared in my blog, jojoba carrier oil is my number one favorite when it comes to my hair. This is because this carrier oil works great to hydrate and moisturize dry, brittle, fizzy and hair with split ends – it is a wonderful alternative from virgin coconut oil and avocado oil. Jojoba oil ‘seeps deeply’ into my scalp which makes a good scalp massage oil.

Jojoba oil is widely used in many hair and skin care products like shampoos, soaps, lotions, creams, conditioners, etc. In fact, you can just add this to your shampoo or conditioner when you wash and rinse your hair.

Other than on your hair, jojoba oil makes a good body massage oil.

Lavender essential oil

Lavender is what I like to call the ‘all-in-one’ or versatile essential oil. It works great and is probably the safest among all the oils – I can even use lavender oil for my kids.

Lavenders usually grow in high places and has this substance called ‘linalool’. Studies have shown that this substance helps you sleep better, while relieving your stress and anxiety – chilling out is a lot better than stressing out and causing hair to fall off.

Then lavender can be used on all kinds or types of scalp and hair condition while relieving you from stress and anxiety which is bad for your hair growth.

I like the pleasant and fragrant smell of lavender. By the way, this oil colorless with a sweet floral scent like light smelling perfume. This oil has a calming and relaxing effect on our nervous systems like when it is applied neat (not diluted) to our feet or use it for a foot bath. This is one oil that can be used as it, neat, without dilution.

How can lavender oil be used to give us a good night’s sleep? Just sprinkle a few drops on our bed sheets or a drop or two under your kiddies’ pillows. Or in the day, to keep you relaxed and calm, you may carry this oil around and just lightly inhale when needed to keep your stress away.

And for ‘healing skin’, just apply as is (neat) on your skin like for example, it can help to reduce burns and mixing this with tea tree oil works even better for your skin.

Rosemary essential oil

For a long time rosemary oil has been used for skin problems and for stimulating hair growth because his oil has regenerative properties. While its antiseptic and anti-microbial substances makes it ideal to heal skin or help with skin problems.

The smell and ‘feel’ of rosemary oil is warm, calming and uplifting. If you want an essential oil mainly for its aroma, maybe this would be a good choice.

Other than for stimulating hair growth, its warmth also stimulates mental alertness and memory.  Otherwise, its warming quality soothes joints pain like arthritis and rheumatism – use it for massage, in a bath or as a warm compressor.

For me, this warmth can really relax my muscles and nerves or simply just rejuvenates me after especially a long and tiring day with the kids. Just use it in my bath or as my body massage feels really good and makes me sleep so much better.

Chamomile essential oil

There are two kinds of chamomile namely German chamomile and Roman chamomile. German chamomile is blue chamomile or ‘matricaria recutita’ and Roman chamomile is from ‘anthemis nobilis’. Chamomile is also called sweet chamomile which has a pleasant fragrance and gardeners like chamomile flowers.

Chamomile oil is widely used in many cosmetics, skin care and hair care products. For hair, chamomile oil is mostly used as a massage oil or it can be mixed with your regular shampoo or conditioner.

When massaging with chamomile oil, other than stimulating your blood circulation to promote hair growth, chamomile also helps keep dandruff away – you need to use this consistently for some time and you will see that your scalp is dandruff free. Keep using it and it keeps dandruff away. So although there are ‘chemical’ based shampoos to rid dandruff, using chamomile oil is a natural way to rid dandruff – which I like.

Since chamomile is soothing and calming, using it as a massage for your scalp or even body is a good way to distress and prevent hair loss. Chamomile can also help with insomnia. So this is also something great to be used at the end of a long day if you really want to rest and relax in the bath, then sleep like a baby throughout the night.

Coconut oil, Virgin coconut oil

Coconut oil and virgin coconut oil are very well known and very widely used for many purposes from cooking, to skin care to hair care. These oils have been used for centuries and one of my favorite oil is virgin coconut oil.

As I have also shared in my earlier blog virgin coconut oil is transparent and very light textured. This is another one of my favorite oil to use for my hair. I use this oil as a scalp massage oil or to add into my shampoo or conditioner. I also use this sometimes as a lotion for my hands and legs.

Plus, I also take virgin coconut oil orally – one tablespoon alternate days. Besides, I also take B vitamin and fish oil supplements alternately. I take all these once a day.

By the way, there are no hard and fast rules. But you need to know the texture or type of your hair and the condition of your scalp. And consistent scalp massage is your key to a healthy scalp.

There are many other essential oils you can choose to use like for normal hair try lavender and rosemary.  For dry hair try sandalwood and again rosemary can help – with jojoba or avocado oil to compliment. Then for oily and dandruff hair, try lemon and tea tree oil. There are many more you can use for your hair.

Other than my hair texture, I choose and use a particular kind of essential oil and or carrier oil depending a lot on my mood or how I feel at that point of time.

For a good scalp or body massage, most of the oils are good – just adjust the dilution according to how you like it (I like mine quite diluted for massages) and use just enough, and not till my hair, scalp or body ‘is dripping’ with oil. And sometimes, rubbing or massaging the oil on my abdomen area (solar plexus) feels good and soothing especially when I have migraines.

I hope my sharing spurs you on with even more ideas on how to grow your hair long fast naturally using essential oil and carrier oil. Be creative, mix and match and enjoy your ‘oils sessions’!  🙂
